The Historic Nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson

To amplify Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s historic nomination to the Supreme Court, The League in Action enlisted 34 TikTok and Instagram influencers to combat disinformation and ground their communities over 8 million followers in the significance of representation on the highest court. The League also partnered with Atlanta-based artist Iman Geddy to create a custom shirt that was seen everywhere from the D.C. to Hollywood. Proceeds from the shirts funded Black women’s leadership.

The Essential Campaign

The League's Essential Campaign imagines a future where we value those who do essential work as much as we value the work itself. Our campaign has brought together partners and talent from social change and entertainment, including Angela Bassett, Sherri Shepherd, Jasmine Davis, The National Domestic Workers Alliance, and over 13 notable film festivals.

Full Set Society

Full Set Society is a digital community for GenZennial folks who, in a colloquial sense, want to “do good and stay bad." FSS content infuses culturally competent civics education into the lifestyle space. From online horoscopes to IRL festivals and clubs in Detroit, Atlanta and Miami, FSS is changing the way GenZ thinks and talks about politics.

 
 

2023 ESSENCE FEST

In partnership with SheaMoisture and Monkeypaw Productions, The League was proud to cultivate a mainstage panel at this year’s Essence Festival: the largest African-American culture and music event in the United States. The panel, “Colorize: Celebrating The Hairs and Hues of Hollywood” brought together actress and singer Coco Jones, SVP of Culture+Impact at Monkeypaw Productions Keisha Senter, and CEO of SheaMoisture & President of Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever Cara Sabin. The panelists all spoke to the role Hollywood, brands, and media play in ensuring all skin tones and textures are reflected in the stories we see on screen. Watch the panel here!

The Spotify Party Code

The Spotify Party code consists of principles aimed at guiding event attendees and Spotifiers towards designing welcoming and safe environments for individuals of all backgrounds. Developed by a global cross-functional team at Spotify led by social impact, along with contributions from non-profit organizations and experts worldwide, The League is proud to be an integral part of creating spaces aimed to ensure every attendee has a positive and joyful experience

In the lead-up 2022 mid-term election, The League in Action partnered with our favorite ethical cosmetics brand Lush to educate their community around key issues like reproductive rights, the environment, and gun control with the goal of staying informed and getting out the vote.
