Current Film Projects

“WHEN CLAUDE GOT SHOT”

2022 Emmy Winner When Claude Got Shot is a powerful documentary that grapples with the reality of gun violence. The League’s impact campaign consists of deep community engagement, innovative storytelling, and strategic partnerships. In 2023, The League is proud to announce “Courtside Conversations” an interactive event for at-risk youth in partnership with key NBA teams.

“THE REBELLIOUS LIFE OF MRS. ROSA PARKS”

The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks is a feature documentary that delves deep into civil rights icon Rosa Parks' historic work and her role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The League supported the premiere through a highly visible influencer program, brought on the American Teachers Federation (AFT) as a financial and programming supporter and planned a high-impact premiere event in Detroit in support of the film and campaign. A suite of programming anchored by AFT is in the works for the first half of 2023.

“THE BIG PAYBACK”

The Big Payback, a documentary directed by Erika Alexander and Whitney Dow breathes new life into the discussion about reparations and helps communities across the U.S. reimagine what justice and equality can look like. In partnership with the filmmakers, The League developed creative and educational content to support the film’s PBS premiere and to provide communities on the ground with actionable resources.
